In addition to our fun daily activities, there are many special events and evening activities throughout the summer at Camp Wah-Nee. Some are long held traditions that we are so honored to continue for our current campers while others are new and exciting. These events keep up the fun, cheering and spirit and add to the true Wah-Nee magic.

Special Events & Evening Activities

Camp Wah-Nee is home to a number of long standing traditional events. The most cherished of them all is our annual Color War. An energetic Wah-Nee Color War brings out the most spirit, integrity and sportsmanship of each of our campers. It simply is a step above the rest.
Wah-Nee’s Color War splits campers into two teams - red or white - which compete in both athletic and non-athletic activities. In order for Color War to begin, there must always be a color war “break,” which leaves the entire camp on its toes. Will it be fireworks? A laser-light show? A hot air balloon? After the exciting color war break, the teams are announced, and the competition begins.
For four fun-filled days, there is endless action, cheering and spirit. Camp Wah-Nee Color War culminates with our traditional sing competition, where each team performs an alma mater, cheer and march, and displays their team plaques and entrances.
As the winning team is announced, the entire camp truly feels that Wah-Nee magic full of spirit and friendship. No matter who wins, each camper takes home the feeling of being part of the magical Wah-Nee family. The entire camp then comes back together as one as we head towards the ending of another amazing Wah-Nee summer.

Although we believe being on Camp Wah-Nee’s campus is the best feeling in the world, trips outside of camp make the summer more exciting! Each summer, we take our 9th, 10th, and 11th grade campers off the camp grounds to have some fun and share a special experience.
Senior and LODGE Trip
These campers participate in a two-night, three-day trip either to go white water rafting, jet boating or visiting other amazing destinations. This fun time out of camp with friends creates unique shared adventures and lasting memories. These trips are designed to build independence and self-confidence.
Super Senior and Mini Lodge Trip
The oldest campers participate in an overnight trip to Newport, Rhode Island. The campers get to explore all that this great city has to offer while creating great memories and exhibiting their independence.
